The Rivers State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, has denied reports making the rounds that its supporters attcked officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and prevented them from arresting its Governorship candidate, Sim Fubara.
Amb. Desmond Akawor, Chairman of the party in the state, in a statement today, said the fight at the airport was between party supporters and officials of the Port Harcourt International Airport.
According to him, the supporters had gone to the airport to welcome Fubara from Abuja.
He stated that the party has apologized to the Management of the Airport, adding that there was no official of the EFCC at the scene of the incident.
