The presidential campaign council of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, has appealed to Governor, Nyesom Wike to sheathe his sword and support candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.
Director-General of the Council, Abiye Sekibo in a statement in Port Harcourt yesterday, charged the governor to remember his statement of supporting any candidate that emerged from the party primaries.
According to Hon. Sekibo, Atiku is the most qualified of all candidates to transform Nigeria, and that his presidency will benefit Rivers State the most.
He stated that Atiku Abubakar is a son of Rivers State and Rivers people will support him in full because they know he has the capacity to deliver as he has been tested and trusted.
He called on Rivers people to support the PDP as they have always voted candidates of the party.
Gov. Wike had urged the people of the state not to vote for any political party or candidates who does not mean well for the state and its development in the 2023 general election.
Wike is currently having a running battle with Atiku Abubakar over the national championship position of the party. He had made it clear that he Iyorchia Ayu must go for a southerner to emerge.
