The National Industrial Court in Port Harcourt has ordered Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, to pay its suspended staff, Zoe Tamunotonye, all outstanding salaries and entitlements owed him since 2022 till date.
Recall that Mr Tamunotonye was in 2022 suspended over alleged sexual assault of a female student.
The trial Judge, Justice Zainab Bashir, in her judgement held that the suspension of Mr Tamunotonye without pay over the allegation is unconstitutional and violates his rights.
Tamunotonye had gone to court to order the management of the polytechnic not to withhold his salaries and entitlements as well as suspend him over an allegation of sexual harassment.
