A lecturer with the Department of Curriculum Studies, at the Ignatius Ajuru University, Dr. Samuel Abiye has been suspended for three months with half salary by management of the school over alleged sex for grade.
Vice Chancellor of the institution, Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele in a post on his Facebook Page on Tuesday, said the lecturer was recorded by the student.
He said in the audio recording, Dr Abiye promised to help the student pass all courses in the department in exchange for sex at a hotel close to Eagle cement at Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.
The VC, noted that the matter had been referred to the Staff Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
He said all courses taught by the lecturer last semester, will be regraded through conference marking to be supervised by the Dean of Education.
In addition, he said all final year students he was supervising have been reassigned to other lecturers.
