The Nigeria Police Force has initiated disciplinary proceedings against 151 senior officers over alleged acts of misconduct and ethical breaches.
This was disclosed in a statement issued Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who noted that the affected officers—ranging from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and above—are currently appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC).
The hearings, which commenced on Monday, July 14, are taking place at the IGP Smart Conference Hall at the Force Headquarters in Abuja and will run through Friday, July 25, 2025.
The officers, drawn from various commands and formations across the country, are being assessed in line with existing police regulations, with final recommendations expected to be forwarded to the Police Service Commission for appropriate action.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, reiterated the Force’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline, emphasizing that professionalism and accountability remain top priorities under his leadership.
According to the statement, the disciplinary process underscores the Police Force’s commitment to building a responsible and integrity-driven institution guided by the rule of law.
