Senator Ned Nwoko has disclosed that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was motivated by a fulfilled promise from President Bola Tinubu to support key infrastructure projects in his constituency.

In a statement, Nwoko revealed that the president committed to funding the completion of the Ogwuashi-Ukwu Dam and the construction of a new dam nearby to provide pipe-borne water and irrigation for the area. He said nearly N30 billion has been allocated in the current budget for the two projects.

“The president promised me something before I joined the APC, and he has done it,” Nwoko said. “This wouldn’t have been possible if I had remained in the PDP.”

He urged people of the South-East, particularly the Igbo, to support the APC, asserting that the region stands to benefit more from aligning with the ruling party.
