Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has clarified her decision to delay resumption at the Senate following a recent court ruling nullifying her suspension.
Speaking in an interview with the African Independent Television (AIT), the lawmaker said she chose to hold off on returning to legislative duties based on legal counsel and in deference to due process. She noted that she would await the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment before taking further steps.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also defended her activities during the period of her suspension, stating that she remained actively engaged with her constituents by delivering democratic dividends and advancing constituency projects. She added that work on her proposed Gold Reserve Bill continued despite her absence from the chamber.
