Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has described the leadership of the 10th Senate under Senate President Godswill Akpabio as the “worst in Nigeria’s history.”
The senator made the remark on Tuesday after security operatives at the National Assembly complex denied her entry, despite a Federal High Court judgment reinstating her to the Senate.
Speaking to journalists at the entrance of the complex, Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Akpabio of abuse of office, alleging that he was behind an appeal against her reinstatement in defiance of the court ruling.
The senator, who arrived at the Assembly in the company of activists including Aisha Yesufu and Randy Peters, maintained that her suspension and continued exclusion from the Senate amounted to a violation of the law.
