The family of the late Senator Barinada Barry Mpigi has announced a lineup of activities for his funeral obsequies, with burial scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Mpigi family of the Gbene Lenwagbe Royal Dynasty in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, the late lawmaker—who represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the 10th Senate—passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 64.
According to the programme, a Night of Tributes will hold on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 4 p.m. at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
This will be followed by a valedictory session in his honour at the Senate Chambers, National Assembly, Abuja, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Later that same day, another Night of Tributes is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at the Obi Wali Cultural Centre in Port Harcourt.
A Service of Songs will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 4 p.m. at Beth-El Anglican Church, Koroma Deanery.
The funeral service is slated for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the same church, after which interment will take place at his country home in Koroma, Tai.
Activities will conclude with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Beth-El Anglican Church, Koroma Deanery.
