Seventeen nominees submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to head key commissions in Rivers State have declared their assets before the Code of Conduct Bureau, signsignallingtep forward in the confirmation process.
The nominees, selected to serve in the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, the Rivers State Civil Service Commission, and the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, also received security clearance from the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele made the disclosure during a screening session conducted by the Senate ad hoc committee tasked with overseeing the activities of the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd).
The asset declaration follows President Tinubu’s transmission of the nominees’ list to the Senate last week for confirmation.
Nominees for the Rivers State Civil Service Commission include Dr. Barikor Baribuma (Chairman), Lot Egopija, Ms. Maeve Ere-Bestman, Mrs. Joy Obiaju, and Mrs. Charity Lloyd Harry.
For the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, the nominees are Dr. Michael Ekpai Odey (Chairman), Mr. Lezaasi Torbira, Prof. Arthur Nwafor, Prof. Godfrey Mbudiogha, Prof. Joyce Akaniwor, Dr. (Mrs.) Olive A. Bruce, and Prof. Chidi Halliday.
