The Nigerian Senate has debunked rumours of impeachment plot against the President of the Senate by unknown “aggrieved Senators.”
Reacting to an online publication which claimed that there were underground moves to remove him from office, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio Described such reports as fake and should be totally disregarded.
Senator Akpabio thereafter directed the Senate Committee on Special Duties to investigate the matter and report back to the red chamber within 24hrs for further actions.
The publication had alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services DSS had taken over the National Assembly Complex to stop the rumoured impeachment moves.
