The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his stance that Ireti Kingibe will not be re-elected as the senator representing the FCT, citing concerns about her performance and accountability in office.
Speaking during a media parley with journalists in Abuja, Wike maintained that the senator had not made a meaningful impact during her tenure.
“Senator Ireti Kingibe will not return as senator of the FCT, and I stand by that,” he said firmly.
Addressing claims by Kingibe that she had tried unsuccessfully to contact him, the minister dismissed the allegation, stating that he does not even have her phone number.“I don’t know her number. I’m not someone who pretends. I don’t pretend.
Mark today’s date—March 2. Your report card will speak. What did you accomplish as a senator?” Wike queried.
He emphasized that effective governance should be measured by tangible results rather than political aemphasiseds, noting his commitment to showcasing projects across satellite towns and communities in the FCT.
“I want residents to see the work being done. Collaboration is not by force. If we must work together, it should be based on performance and meaningful contributions. As a senator, you must deliver. Ideas and responsibilities should not be taken for granted,” he added
