In a remarkable act of philanthropy aimed at promoting access to higher education, Dr. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs has launched the SSB Lifeline Scholarship Scheme to support 250 indigent students of the University of Port Harcourt (UniPort) who are unable to pay their school charges.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Centre of Excellence Main Auditorium, University of Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the launch, Dr. Lulu-Briggs emphasized the importance of education as a foundation for societal growth and personal transformation.
“Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our youth. No deserving student should be denied the opportunity to learn because of financial constraints. Through this scholarship, we hope to give these young minds a chance to build a brighter future,” she stated.
The SSB Lifeline Scholarship Scheme is expected to ease the financial burdens of beneficiaries, enabling them to focus on their studies and achieve academic excellence.
The initiative has been widely praised as a beacon of hope for many students and a testament to Dr. Lulu-Briggs’ longstanding commitment to youth empowerment and social development.
