There have been reports of bad blood between the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike over who controls the affairs of the party in the state.
Some political analysts have even alleged that Governor Wike wants Secondus out to increase his chances of grabbing the party’s Presidential or Vice-presidential ticket come 2023.
But, Secondus in a statement through his media adviser, Ike Abonyi over the weekend debunked such claims, describing them as false and malicious aimed at injecting bad blood in the party
He said the National Chairman along with members of the National Working Committee, NWC, are effectively piloting the affairs of the party to the satisfaction of majority of its members and leaders across the country.
Abonyi, also stated that Wike as one of the effective PDP state governors, on his part is busy delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Rivers State.
He said there is definitely no quarrel between both leaders who are working harmoniously for the good of the party, Rivers people and Nigerians at large.
The statement, further explained that the real headache of the party is the steady destruction of democracy tenets by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
