The Federal Government has said that the Second Niger Bridge would be completed next year.
Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, said when completed, it would serve as a major link between the South East and South West regions.
He also notedd that the COVID-19 pandemic affected construction time of the project.
“We should finish the bridge next year between the second quarter and third quarter, construction time was lost because of COVID-19,” he said.
“So, what you see currently is the final work. The sub-structure which entailed building cement structures under water often costs a lot of money,” he added.
