Media Consultant, Kennedy Friday has alleged that Rt. Hon. Maurice Pronen rejected the sum of N2.5 billion from several quarters and individuals to withdraw and relinguish his Governorship ticket of the Social Democratic Party for Sen. Magnus Abe.
He said Pronen resisted the offer and stood his ground, so that Rivers people can have a viable option for the 2023 guber election.
Pronen was the Governorship Candidate of the party, recognized by INEC.
However, a subscription primary was held by some members of the party, that produced Sen. Magnus Abe as the candidate of the SDP, on Saturday.

Please meet Rt Hon Maurice Pronen, the man who rejected over 2.5 billion naira from several adversarial quarters and individuals to willingly withdraw and relinquish his governorship ticket in the SDP for Senator Magnus Abe so that Rivers people can have a viable option for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.
Hon Maurice Pronen behaved like Moses, of whom the Bible recorded in the Book of Hebrews chapter 11:24-27, which I now qoute in extenso:
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
My people, there are still good people in Rivers State. I know what this man passed through, the pressures he faced and the tantalizing temptation he resisted and overcame just so we could, as Rivers people, have our day of informed choice under the sun in 2023.
