The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt will Today hear fresh charges filed by the Rivers State government against former governor of the state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Tonye Cole.
Attorney General of the state, Zaccheus Adangor made this known in a staement.
The fresh charges bother on alleged sale of assets belonging to the state government when Amaechi held sway as governor of the state.
The assets include the Omoku Gas Turbine, Afam Gas Turbine, Trans Amadi Gas Turbine, Eleme Gas Turbine, Olympia Hotel and the contract award for the execution of the Mono Rail Project.
Recall that Justice Okogbule Gbasam of the state High Court in Port Harcourt, had struck out similar charges by the state government against Amaechi and Cole.
This was after the state Attorney General withdrew the charges in court.
