The Rivers State Government has alleged that there are sinister motives by some Abuja-based politicians to cause a breakdown of law and order in the state. This is in order to force the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state.
This claim was made known by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paulinus Nsirim yesterday in Port Harcourt. Nsirim said because of God’s intervention these persons who have been working tirelessly to achieve this aim since 2015 have failed.
He said instead of supporting the efforts of the government, the alleged plotters are busy looking for a State of Emergency to be declared in the state as they want to acquire power at all cost.
He equally noted that these men who are jostling for presidential and vice presidential tickets in 2020, want to use the COVID-19 to cause crises in the state, as if the state and FG are at war. This is after they did everything within their powers to ensure that the 2019 Governorship Election results were not announced but also failed, Nsirim asserted.
He accused the APC of holding an evil meeting to this effect, accusing them of voting huge sums of money to recruit and lure gullible persons to carry out this evil agenda of theirs, in the state.
