The Rivers State Government has said that there are plans to monitor the quality of air in the state.
Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Dr.Igbiks Tamuno disclosed this is in a statement in Port Harcourt, today.
Igbiks said it became necessary following the resurfacing of soot in the state.
He stated that illegal refineries within and around Port Harcourt, is the reason for the soot being experienced.
He assured residents that plans are still on to set up modular refineries in the state
