The Rivers State Government today inaugurated the state COVID-19, enlightenment volunteers in Port Harcourt. The committee is expected to move from one street to another, sensitizing residents of Port Harcourt on the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim while inaugurating the committee said the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led administration will continue to intensify efforts for the containment of the coronavirus pandemic in the state. Governor Wike had since the outbreak of Covid-19 demonstrated remarkable capacity to curb the spread of the deadly virus, he noted.
The commissioner who highlighted street to street prevention campaign on Covid-19 as an alternative to the containment of the dreaded virus, urged residents to adhere to all the rules and directives of the state government in curbing the spread of the virus.
The commissioner charged the committee to effectively carryout their duty of sensitizing the people of PH township; Borokiri; Diobu: Eagle Island; D/Line and GRA, in Port Harcourt LGA. He also appealed to residents of the state to report any symptom of the virus to the relevant authorities.
