The Rivers State Government, has donated a fully furnished administrative building and 9 units of living quarters to the state Police command.
The state of the art Police station built at Kpopie, Gokana local government area, was commissioned and handed over to the state commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, today.
Secretary to the state government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo represented Governor, Nyesom Wike at the function.
Dr. Danagogo while handing over the building, reiterated the Governor’s resolve to the protection of lives and property of Rivers people.
“the peace and security of the state is paramount, without peace, there can be no development in communities,” he said.
“As the Chief Security Officer of the State, the Governor has asked me to hand-over this facility to the Nigeria Police to ensure that the police live up to their expectation of protecting lives and properties of all persons,” he added.
Dr. Tammy also urged the police command to take care of the facilities and match the Governor’s expectation for safety of lives and properties.
The state commissioner, Joseph Mukan in his remark commended the state government for the kind gesture.
