The Rivers State Government has announced the cancellation of the planned general meeting of the United Igbo Community scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Oyigbo in Oyigbo Local Government Area due to security reasons.
State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paulinus Nsirim disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
He said security agencies have been directed to ensure that the said meeting does not hold to forestall a break down of law and order in the area.
He called on residents of the state to desist from crime and criminality, as the state government is committed to ensuring protection of lives and properties of Rivers people.
