The Rivers State Government has called for the empowerment of the Girl Child in Ogoni land and in the state in general.
The State Commissioner of Special Duties, Dr. Thomas Bariere made this known when the leadership of an NGO, House of Crown paid him a courtesy visit in his office yesterday in Port Harcourt.
He promised to partner with the NGO to empower the girl child educationally, economically and otherwise as he noted that the NGO is committed to raise funds for the project
The NGO in its remarks thanked Dr. Thomas and the state government for supporting the project and calling for the empowerment of the girl child in the society.
