The Rivers State Government has announced the approval of a fourth flyover at GRA Junction by the state Executive Council, presided over by Governor Nyesom Wike.
The State Executive Council met yesterday at Government House, Port Harcourt and took the decision. The state governor had earlier proposed the construction of the flyover, few weeks ago while on inspection of ongoing projects in the state.
The State Commissioner for works, Austin Ben-Chioma made this known to journalists after the meeting. He said the Executive council also approved the dualisation of Ezimbu Link Road connecting Stadium Road from GRA junction and the Tombia Road extension linking Ikwerre road.
The commissioner also confirmed the approval of the expansion of the Rumuola flyover to four lanes in order to ease vehicular movement and boost economic activities.
Hon. Austin Chioma also noted that the state government will create alternative routes for motorists. This is to ensure that motorists do not suffer untold hardship during the road constructions and for easy flow of traffic.
