The Rivers State Government has said that the five thousand civil service positions, will be filled this year.
Governor Nyesom Wike who disclosed this in an end of year message, yesterday in Port Harcourt said the essence of is to reduce poverty and unemployment in the state.
Wike called on residents of the state to be optimistic and put their hopes in God as we hope for a better year. He said despite the challenges last year brought, people should be grateful for sailing through.
Meanwhile, some stakeholders have called on the governor not to impose a total lockdown in the state, as earlier threatened. This according to them, will cause more harm than good.
