In furtherance of his effort to cushion the biting economic situation in the country towards ensuring indigent undergraduate freshers in his Constituency, Bonny do not drop out of school, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Oko-Jumbo has approved the award of full scholarship for 30 fresh undergraduate students of public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The scholarship which is to be awarded to year 1 students in accordance with laid down criteria, would cater for the beneficiaries’ tuition fees throughout their stay in the tertiary institution provided they remain on academic clear-standing.

Recall that few days ago the Rt Honourable Speaker had offered a 3 million naira grant to students in his Constituency with a view to support the educational pursuit of his constituents.

This new inclusion in the educational support scheme of Mr Speaker is to be handled by the earlier constituted committee led by Hon Lali Green with immediate effect.
