Final year students of the Rivers State University are currently holding a peaceful protest over the “No School Fees, No Exam’” policy of the institution.
The students were seen marching along Aba Road this afternoon carrying placards with inscriptions like, “RSU, password to unknown future”, ‘Gov. Wike please come to our aid” amongst others.
It was gathered that the students were not allowed to write yesterday’s exams over failure to pay their fees, despite pleas to allow them write and pay later.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Enefaa Georgewill in a statement said the state Commissioner of Police, had blocked the students from getting to the state government house.
“Commissioner Of Police, Rivers State Block Protesting Rivers State University Students From Moving To The Government House… Students Still Insist They Will Go On,” he said.
