The management of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has released the departmental cut-off marks for undergraduate admission into the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the official list signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Ibinomia B. S. Harry, the merit cut-off for Medicine and Surgery is the highest at 71, while Law follows closely with 69. Nursing Sciences and Radiography recorded 66 and 56 respectively, while programmes in Engineering, Management Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Agriculture had varying benchmarks.
In the Faculty of Management Sciences, Accounting has a merit cut-off of 57, while Business Administration is pegged at 53. In Engineering, Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering recorded 53 each, Computer Engineering 55, and Civil Engineering 49.
In the sciences, Computer Science requires 57, Geology 53, Microbiology 45, and Biochemistry 43. The Faculty of Education set 42 for Business Education, 40 for Library and Information Science, and 37 for Educational Management.
For Communication and Media Studies, Journalism and Media Studies recorded 53, Public Relations and Advertising 57, Broadcasting and Cinematography 50, while Development and Communication Studies had 48.
In Humanities, English and Literature requires 38, French 49, while Theatre Arts and Religious Studies have 47 and 42 respectively. Political Science in the Social Sciences is pegged at 47, Psychology at 40, and Sociology at 36.
The Registrar emphasised that candidates seeking admission must meet the departmental cut-off marks in addition to other requirements for consideration.
