The Management of Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has approved a downward review of convocation fees for graduating students ahead of the institution’s 37th and 38th combined convocation ceremonies scheduled for December 2025.

The decision followed a strategic meeting between the University Management and the leadership of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, where concerns raised over the earlier announced fees were deliberated upon.

According to the revised fees, Bachelor’s Degree graduates will now pay ₦60,000, Professional/Certificate Programme graduates ₦68,000, Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Master’s Degree graduates ₦125,000 each, while Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduates will pay ₦210,000.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, commended the Students’ Union Government and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for engaging in constructive dialogue with the management, noting that the discussions helped resolve misunderstandings and further strengthened the cordial relationship between the university and its students.

The Registrar, Mrs. Ibimonia B. S. Harry, advised graduating students, parents, and the public to take note of the revised fees and rely only on official communications from the University.
