The Rivers State Police Command, says a locally made pistol was recovered from the alleged killer of a student of the Rivers State University, on Thursday.
Spokesperson of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, shortly after the incident.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has ordered an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Management of the institution has also confirmed the incident.
In the meantime, Registrar of the school, Sydney Eyindah has denied rumors making the rounds that the school is no longer safe for students.
He urged parents to ignore the report as the institution is safe and secured for academic activities.
