Best Graduating Student: Home and Abroad.
Three years after my graduation as the pioneer first class graduate of Mass Communication in the Rivers State University, I am extremely delighted to announce that I have emerged the best graduating media practice student at the world’s number one University for development studies, the University of Sussex. I’ve also been awarded the Silverstone prize for the best master’s degree dissertation in the Sussex school of Media, Arts and Humanities.
My immense gratitude to God who has always made it possible, and to my beloved and ever supportive Wariopusenibo John Adonye Bright family, to the British Government who funded my scholarship through the prestigious Chevening Awards (FCDO), and to the entire faculty and staff at the Sussex school of Media, Arts and Humanities. For laying my foundation in media and communication, my profound thanks goes out to all my lecturers in the Department of Mass Communication, Rivers Stste University – I hope I’ve made you proud. To Tunde Alabi-Hundeyin for always being there for me throughout this tempestuous year, thank you sir for all you do, to all my colleagues in the Sussex media practice class of 2021 cutting across 20 countries, and of course, to the Chevening Nigeria alumni class of 2021.
As I commence this new chapter in my life and career which will be essentially dedicated to seeking solutions through research to the most troubling issues facing our world, I couldn’t be more excited and hopeful. It’s a beautiful life and I’m immensely grateful for it.
