The Rivers State Police Command, says over twenty million naira were stolen from four Automated Teller Machines, ATM, in the Rivers State University.
Spokesperson of the state command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement shortly after armed robbers damaged ATM machines in the school, and carted away huge sum of money, on Wednesday.
The robbers who forced their way into the school premises, according to eyewitnesses were dressed in Police uniforms.
But, Omoni while reacting to the allegation, said only a thorough investigation would prove if the criminals were dressed in Police uniforms as claimed.
He stated that four suspects including some Bankers have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently helping the Police with its investigation.
He also explained that the Commissioner of Police,Ebika Friday had ordered a full investigation into the matter, to bring the perpetrators to book.
