The Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has announced that its 37th and 38th Combined Convocation Ceremonies will be held on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, 2025.
According to a statement from the Registrar, Mrs. I. B. S. Harry, the ceremony is for graduates who completed their academic programmes during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
The event will feature the award of Bachelor’s Degrees on Friday, December 5, while postgraduate degrees, including Master’s and Doctorate Degrees, will be conferred on Saturday, December 6, at the University Convocation Arena.
A lineup of activities has been scheduled ahead of the main ceremonies. It will commence on Sunday, November 30, with an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at the Chapel of Redemption and a Press Conference at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room.
Collection of academic gowns, brochures, scrolls, and yearbooks will begin on Monday, December 1, at the various faculties and departments, alongside a two-day exhibition holding at the Amphitheatre.
On Wednesday, December 3, a Convocation Lecture titled “Joint University-Industry Ventures: The Entrepreneurship, Technology, Sustainability and People Nexus for Rivers State University” will be delivered by Dr. Daere Akobo, Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Pana Holdings. A luncheon will follow at the Convocation Arena.
Other highlights include sports activities on Thursday, December 4, and a cocktail reception at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge later that evening.
