The Rivers State Police Command has announced that the police officers that barricaded the residence of the sacked Ex MD of NDDC, Joy Nunieh were not on illegal duty.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who made this known in a statement Today said, the officers were from the IGP Monitoring Team in Abuja and were in Port Harcourt on official assignment.
He said the officers went through the processes of contacting the command’s headquarters in the state before proceeding to the residence of the sacked MD of the commission.
DSP Omoni noted that CP Joseph Mukan was aware of the operations after the command duly received and signed their investigating letter.
