The Rivers State Police Command, says security lockdown will continue in Port Harcourt city local government area till the end of January 2023.
State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong in a statement yesterday, said the lockdown is to forestall last minute strike by criminals.
He said the command would continue to ensure adequate security of lives and properties in the state during and after the new year celebration.
He stated that the law will come heavily on any one caught involved in crime and criminality, and urged those involved to desist from the act.
He called on Rivers People to go about their businesses without fear as the command is ready to combat crime and other forms of criminality.
