The Rivers State Police Command, has advised residents to obey the night curfew imposed by the state government, on all entry and exit points of the state, or risk arrest.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni said this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.
He said the command has deployed officers across all land and sea borders of the state to enforce the directive.
Omoni stated that officers have also been advised to conduct themselves in a professional manner and be civil in the discharge of their duties.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has directed that a team be set up to monitor the affairs of officers stationed at the borders. This is to ensure adequate discharge of their duties.
Omoni, furthermore, assured residents of the state to be law abiding, as the command is committed to ensuring adequate security of lives and properties.
The Governor, had few days ago imposed a night curfew on all borders of the state from 8:00 pm to 6:00 pm, following the killing of security Operatives in the state, few days ago.
