The Rivers State Police Command has killed six suspected armed robbers at Obelle Town in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Nwonyi, made this known in a statement on Friday.
He said operatives of anti-cultism and tactical units stormed the hideout of a gang led by one Uchechukwu Daniel and on sighting the police, the hoodlums opened fire.
According to him, the Police responded and killed six while six others were arrested.
“Sequel to the criminal activities at the East-West Road axis of Emohua Local Council of the state, operatives attached to the anti-cultism unit, in conjunction with a tactical team, invaded a hideout of one Uchechukwu Daniel aka “Horn man” at Obele community in Emohua,” he said.
“On sighting the operatives, they opened fire on them. The rapid response from the police neutralised and dislodged them, as they scampered for safety and bowed to the superior fire. Six of them were killed and six arrested,” he added.
