The Rivers State Police Command says the recent disbanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad by the Inspector General of Police will not create a lacuna in the security architecture in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan disclosed this after a meeting with management team and commanders of the disbanded SARS group yesterday.
The CP said the officers on ground are capable of standing-in for the disbanded officers as he assured residents of the state of the command’s commitment to ensure the protection of lives and property and to effectively carryout the IGP’s orders.
Elanhub had reported that the CP, had earlier pleaded with residents of the state to provide the command with useful information that will promote the protection of lives and properties in the state.
