The Rivers State Police Command, has denied reports of heavy shootings close to Kala Police station at Mile 4, Port Harcourt, on Monday.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement, shortly after reports of heavy shooting circulated on social media platforms.
He urged members of the public to ignore and disregard the information, as he cautioned news platforms and residents against raising false alarm.
Omoni said all hands must be on deck to ensure adequate security of lives and properties.
He appealed to residents to provide the Police with useful information that will lead to the arrest of criminal elements in the society, urging them not to live in fear.
