The Rivers State Police Command has denied claims that a young man identified as Life Sunday died in its custody.
The Family of Mr. Sunday had alleged that their son died in the custody of the Octopus Strike Force of the command.
However, spokesperson of the command, Grace Iringi-Koko in a statement Today said Mr. Sunday died in a hospital after a gun battle with the Police.
According to her, Sunday had confessed to being a member of a kidnapping gang, and that he was rescued with an AK 47 riffle while other members of the gang escaped.
A brother of the deceased had in a statement urged the Police to produce their son, accusing them of torturing him to death.
