The Rivers State Police Command, has banned The use of sirens, revolving lights, spy, and covered plate numbers in the state

spokesperson of the command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement, Today.

He said the ban is sequel to the earlier directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, on the abuse and indiscriminate use of these items without appropriate approvals.

He said within one week, all those those who have sirens, revolving lights, spy and covered plate numbers should dismantle them.

The statement also said a taskforce headed by the Commander of Operation Sting, ACP Jephthah Nengi, has been set up to ensure full compliance.

He called on residents of the state, and security personnel except those on covert operations to comply with the directive.
