The Rivers State Police Command has announced that the mobile Police officer who allegedly killed a 38-year-old man at Elelenwo on Saturday has been arrested.
Spokesperson of the state police, command Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt over the weekend.
Omoni who noted that investigation has commenced into the matter said the officer has already undergone psychological evaluation.
He stated that the command is currently in touch with the family as they would ensure that justice is served.
He furthermore appealed to the public to stay calm and allow the law take its cause, while stating that the command has zero tolerance for such heinous crime.
Meanwhile, Human Right Organisations in the state have condemned the incident and asked the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan to ensure justice is served.
