The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a couple accused of physically assaulting and torturing their 10-year-old son, Goodluck.
A Facebook user Chigozie Effe who had earlier raised alarm over the incident on Facebook made this known yesterday.
He said he was updated on the arrest of the couple by one John Iheanacho who ensured the arrest of the couple with support from the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA). He also stated that the Rivers State Welfare Department also learnt their support.
Chigozie, in an earlier post on Facebook said, the 10-year-old was subjected to physical torture and inhuman treatment by his parents and sometimes sent out to the streets for eating food without their consent and being stubborn. He said at times Goodluck was restricted with chains on the accusation of being a wizard.
