The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three women allegedly involved in sale and purchase of babies in Rivers state.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident to journalists yesterday as the suspects were being paraded.
One of the suspects identified as Joy said the mother of the baby she sold, willingly gave her the baby to sell. This is because she could not take care of him. She also said the child was sold for 700,000 naira to a buyer who is now at large.
The Police has vowed to bring all those involved in the crime to book.
