Six suspects have been reportedly arrested in connection with the killing of three policemen along Rumuokoro flyover bridge in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State by the state Police Command
According to Punch, Okon Effiong, the state commissioner of Police said this when executives of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Rivers State, led by its chairman, Job Stanley, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Port Harcourt.
He stated that since the incident the Police has been working to ensure the arrest of the suspects, adding that they are eight in number but, six have been arrested.
Part of his statement reads,
Within this period there is good news. The people who killed three policemen and abducted a man in Rumuokoro, I think it was an eight man gang, six of them have been arrested.
We will have a press conference to show you what we have then we will now take you to see them with your eyes. We are not interested in media trial.
“But we are doing our best and we hope and believe that our best will be good enough for us.”
