The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has reportedly scheduled a general stakeholders meeting for Monday, July 28, 2025, to unveil the revised timetable and guidelines for the upcoming local government elections in the state.
In an official notice signed by the Chairman and Chief Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Michael Ekpali Odey, the Commission extended invitations to leaders of all registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious and professional organizations, the media, civil society groups, non-governmental organizations, as well as community-based groups and the electorate.
The meeting is expected to hold at the RSIEC Headquarters, located at 239-243 Aba Road, Port Harcourt, with all participants required to be seated at the auditorium by 2:00 p.m. prompt.
Dr. Odey emphasized that the highlight of the gathering will be the formal release of the updated electoral timetable and operational guidelines for the 2025 local council polls.
