In readiness for the October 5th Local Government elections, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission has asked independent observers, particularly civil Society groups who would want to observe the elections to apply.
The electoral umpire in a statement signed by management and made available to the press also asked those who would want to serve as adhoc staff during the elections to apply through its designated website.
Recall that both the pro Wike PDP group and the pro Tony Okocha APC group have said they would not be part of the election.
They accused RSIEC of not following electoral guidelines and acting in conflict with the provisions of the law.
