The Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has described the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun as wicked and fraudulent over alleged attempt to takeover office of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
The governor, while addressing the Press at the RSIEC Secretariat on Thursday night said he foiled an attempt by Rogue Police officers on orders of the IGP to takeover the office and prevent the LG elections from holding on Saturday.
According to him, the IG should be ashamed of himself for taking directives from an individual who claims to be the owner of Rivers State, rather than being professional, and protect the constitution.
He reiterated that the LG elections must hold in the State, adding that the “fraudulent ruling” by Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court did not stop the elections, but prevented INEC and the Police from releasing voters register and providing security respectively.
The governor added that he does not need security from the Police as they will protect themselves during the elections.
He also said the IGP in his attempt to stop the polls will have to shoot him first to succeed, and described the battle as last fight which he will take to the end.
