The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has confirmed a restriction of movement for the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday.
Speaking during a media briefing with commanders of security agencies at the state headquarters, RSIEC Chairman Michael Odey stated that the restriction would be in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on election day.
Odey assured that the commission is fully prepared for the polls, emphasizing that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure free, fair, and credible elections. He also commended security agencies for their continued support and urged Rivers residents to participate and exercise their constitutional right to vote.
