The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has completed the second phase of training for 319 Ward Collation and Returning Officers ahead of the August 30 local government election in the state.

RSIEC Chairman and Chief Electoral Officer, Michael Ekpali Odey, in a statement on Tuesday, said the exercise was aimed at strengthening competence, capability, and professionalism among the Commission’s ad-hoc staff.

He noted that the training, held on August 19 at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, was part of measures to ensure a credible and transparent electoral process.
